Perrin Family goals to start 2018:
- Leave jobs
- Sell car
- Possessions -> storage
- Rent out house
- Volunteer in Ecuador
- Write about it!
(Before you assume some type of mid-life crisis, please know these are all measured steps with our return trip planned…)
First some acknowledgements. A huge shout out to our employers — the Barb McHenry Team and VEIC — for allowing us to take two months of leave to accomodate this adventure. Thanks to our family and friends for inspiring these ideas and offering support throughout the planning process. And finally, thanks to our kids who are forced to join us through all the transition. We hope this trip will be unforgettable!
Our motivations are (relatively) simple:
- Personal growth through being pushed outside our comfort zone(s)
- Instill perspective and an appreciation for how much we have
- Inspire a sense of adventure to hopefully last a lifetime
This blog will track our experiences and reflections over the next few months as we prepare for and trek across Ecuador, immersing ourselves in an entirely different culture as we attempt to do a little good in this world. Hope you enjoy it with us!
